Biography
Salma is a purpose-driven PR practitioner with well-rounded accomplishments across various ecosystems, ranging from unicorn tech startup to financial services. She is also a data-driven narrative crafter, discourse translator, and dots connector, all orchestrated under one vision: helping relevant publics in making well-informed decisions.
Her passion lies in exploring the ways in which strategic communications can drive positive changes through strategic narratives, media relations, thought leadership, corporate social responsibility and community engagement. With her dedication to driving changes through strategic communications, Salma now works together with the team at Kiroyan Partners in the active promotion of sustainable business practices in Indonesia.
Experiences
Salma’s involvement in PR and Strategic Communications work began during her early college days studying Strategic Communications at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) when she supported a local startup in Yogyakarta, one of the ministries in Indonesia, and the research center of sharia finance and digital economics. She gained exposure to the intersection of strategic communication, business, and sustainable development through diverse roles encompassing project management, community empowerment, research, and initiatives focused on sustainability innovation.
Prior to joining Kiroyan Partners, Salma has forged collaborations with prominent industry leaders, including a multinational FMCG company, Indonesia’s leading geothermal energy producer, and a prominent multinational building solutions company in Indonesia. She honed her expertise at the intersection of strategic communication, business, and sustainable development through various roles. These include establishing PR initiatives, managing community relations, overseeing corporate social responsibility, handling internal engagement and communications, and enhancing thought leadership for a multinational FMCG company in Indonesia, a unicorn tech startup, a leading industrial conglomerate in ASEAN, and a financial services industry leader, each with its sustainable development vision.
