Empowering Social Sustainability in Indonesia’s Development
October 3, 2025 – Jakarta – FISIP UI, in partnership with Kiroyan Partners, has launched the School of Social Sustainability & Innovation (SSSI), a pioneering initiative designed to place the social dimension at the heart of Indonesia’s sustainable development agenda.
This new school is committed to empowering professionals, students, and organizations with the knowledge and tools to address social challenges with a focus on equity, inclusion, and real-world impact.
In his keynote address, Dr. Pungkas Bahjuri Ali from Bappenas emphasized the alignment of SSSI’s mission with Indonesia’s national development vision. FISIP UI Dean, Prof. Dr. Semiarto Aji Purwanto, highlighted that social justice and inclusivity are as crucial to sustainability as environmental and economic concerns.
Through flexible degree and non-degree programs, SSSI will provide cutting-edge education on issues like social license to operate and governance, paving the way for cross-sector collaboration and tangible local action.
