An Indonesian official distributor of a multinational HVAC pump producer company faced legal charges of patent infringement, document forgery, and defamation brought by the former distributor. During the legal proceedings, the former distributor also carried out a black campaign to scare the customers by mentioning that any purchase of the said pump could potentially lead to an infraction charge.

Our approach
Kiroyan Partners devised a media engagement strategy to increase media exposure and public awareness on the case and support ensuring a fair court proceeding. The strategy was implemented through series of media visits, articles publication, as well as regular digital activation, and social media assets management. In addition, we assisted the client with messaging strategy for instilling confidence among consumers that the charges were baseless and would inflict no harm to them.

The media attention increased and many publications resulted from the engagement efforts. Furthermore, the company could maintain its reputation among the customers and in the marketplace despite the legal cases.
