Context
An international research organization sought to promote sustainable socio-economic development within Indonesia’s palm oil sector. Recognizing the importance of public perception and stakeholder alignment, the organization aimed to strengthen communication efforts to support more sustainable industry practices.

Challenge
The palm oil sector is characterized by diverse stakeholder interests, including government, industry, and civil society, often with differing perspectives. Without a coordinated communication approach, efforts to promote sustainability risked fragmentation and limited influence. Building a shared understanding among stakeholders became a key challenge.

Our Approach
Kiroyan Partners supported the organization in mapping key stakeholders and designing engagement strategies to foster dialogue across sectors. We facilitated outreach to policymakers, industry actors, and key opinion leaders, while also supporting content development and media engagement to amplify sustainability narratives. The approach combined stakeholder engagement with strategic communication channels, including publications, interviews, and partnerships, to strengthen message reach and credibility.

Impact
The engagement contributed to stronger awareness and more coordinated discourse on sustainable palm oil among key stakeholders. By aligning communication efforts and amplifying credible voices, the initiative helped build a foundation for more constructive engagement and future collaboration, including identifying opportunities in key international markets.
