Biography
With her vast experience working in the media industry and development sector, Masayu Vinanda, or simply Nanda, has always been passionate about enhancing the strategic role of communication and media to promote development and social change. Her expertise is centered around strategic communication, knowledge management, as well as social and behavioral change communication.
While pursuing her master’s degree, she wrote a research paper about the shifting narratives in environmental campaigns and presented her research at the Media and International Development Symposium in Norwich, UK. In 2018, she co-founded the Indonesia Communication for Development (C4D) Forum, a learning network that connects communication and development practitioners to exchange experiences and best practices
Experience
Nanda started her career in the broadcast industry as a radio announcer and producer in a state-owned radio station and as a news reporter at a television news channel. After five years of working in the media, Nanda made a jump into the development sector by joining several NGOs and development projects such as WWF Indonesia, SOS Children’s Villages, ASEAN Foundation, USAID Sustainable Ecosystems Advanced (SEA) Project, ZSL Indonesia, and UNICEF Indonesia.
Her experience has not only nurtured her to become an avid campaigner in a multicultural landscape, but also a passionate trainer who often shared experience in public speaking, media relation, and strategic communications for NGOs.
Before being promoted as Principal Consultant in August 2022, Nanda had first joined the company as a Senior Consultant back in 2018 and rejoined Kiroyan Partners in 2022 as Lead Consultant. This has enriched her skills concerning project and team management through her assignments to manage multiple projects for various clients comprising NGOs, donor agencies, private sector, and government agencies.
