Prior to joining Kiroyan Partners, Desy Hartini amassed over 7 years of journalistic experience. Driven by the aspiration to broaden her horizons and employ her skills in novel capacities, Desy smoothly shifted into the realm of consulting. Leveraging her journalistic and educational foundation, she adeptly transferred her proficiency in research and analysis to offer strategic perspectives and solutions to clients.
Prior to completing her Bachelor’s Degree, Desy initiated her journalistic journey as a Writer at a print magazine within the Kompas Gramedia Group. With a growing fascination for journalism and communications, she then dedicated almost seven years to her role as a Journalist and Digital Producer at Kompas TV Jakarta.
In her capacity as a Journalist, Desy engaged with a diverse range of news topics, spanning from social and political matters to humanistic narratives and conflicts, both in Jakarta, Indonesia, and even internationally. She has been stationed in conflict zones across eastern Indonesia and was privileged to partake in a journalism fellowship sponsored by a rapid transit transportation company in Japan.
Notably, Desy played an integral role in pioneering and advancing digital media initiatives at Kompas TV, which include platforms such as Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, and Google+. Her involvement extended to participation in numerous seminars, workshops, and educational sessions hosted by digital and social media platforms. An exceptional highlight includes her participation in a collaborative venture between the Alliance of Independent Journalists (AJI) Indonesia and Google Indonesia, focused on enhancing online news verification.
Beyond her core journalism pursuits, Desy also juggled several other roles, including part-time positions as a Media Relations professional at SOS Children’s Villages Indonesia, Media Relations for a company affiliated with the Gojek-Tokopedia Group, Social Media Specialist at a Jakarta-based digital agency, and freelance writing engagements for a magazine based in Sydney, Australia.
The knowledge and experience she gained throughout her tenure in media and communications stoked Desy’s fervent interest in Public Affairs. Motivated by this passion, she transitioned to her current role as a Communications Specialist at Kiroyan Partners.
