Diah has long developed her passion in the fields of Asia’s politics and economy ever since 2010 she pursued bachelor’s degree in International Relations from University of Gadjah Mada, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. By the time she pursued Master of Science in 2016 in International Development (International Political Economy & Development) from the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom, her passion in the development and socio-political issues has further evolved into a professional interest as she continues to build her expertise in this area.
Diah worked at the Tokyo-based Information Technology, NTT Communications where she showed strong business acumen and strategic planning skills. Always value-driven in her work, she interned as a direct support for ASEAN Foundation’s Executive Director (ED) for her Master’s degree dissertation. Her latest experience working in a Singapore-based public affairs advisory, White Rook Advisory, has particularly strengthened skills by equipping her with strategic communications, management, reporting, and interpersonal skills that are essential in the field of public affairs.
Diah’s first professional experience was as an account manager at NTT Communications. During this experience, she was awarded as one of the best performing sales in Asia Pacific by the headquarter in her first year of working. She developed a strong interest in market and business intelligence during her role as a business developer.
Diah was the first intern to directly support the ED as handpicked by the ED herself. She supported the ED on daily basis with tasks varied from developing the ED’s strategic communications through speeches, talking points, and presentations, to research for the Foundation’s programmes and other purposes.
By handling different needs in public affairs and strategic communication, Diah further developed understanding of the relations between politics and economy. Her analytical and strategic thinking were further enhanced as she gained more exposure of issues in development and its dynamics in Southeast Asia region. Following the internship, she joined a Singapore-based public affairs advisory, White Rook Advisory. She was particularly involved in health and energy industries issues. She engaged in activities from proposals development, research and analysis, to stakeholders mapping, and crises management.
