Born in Surakarta, Central Java in 1985, Andreas spent his elementary education in New Zealand and Surakarta, stayed in Surakarta until graduated from high school. He then took his undergraduate study in Yogyakarta, known as the education city in Indonesia. After graduating from Gadjah Mada University, Andreas then pursued his Masters Degree in the University of Indonesia. His childhood experience and later his college years have shaped Andreas’ cosmopolitan view towards his surrounding, yet at the same time contributed to his strong traditional roots along with its local wisdoms and noble values.
Andreas began his career as a junior analyst then senior analyst in Asia Kelolartha Eramaju in 2010, a social and political research as well as strategic communications firm in Jakarta.
In 2012, he began to practice his knowledge in political communication when he was recruited to be the Digital Media Campaign Strategist for one of the political entities in Malaysia. He was responsible for composing the digital campaign strategy and blueprint for the 2013 Malaysian General Election, and further for the issue handling on daily basis. He conducted stakeholders mapping and analysis to anticipate issues and actors.
After concluding the Malaysia campaign in 2014, Andreas gained his experiences in community development by co-designing and co-initiating Tenunkoe Program, a women weavers empowerment program in East Nusa Tenggara to facilitate the establishment and operational of a social enterprise which is collectively owned by the weavers, together with Yayasan Satu Karsa Karya (YSKK) The program obtained the funding from the Australian Government for 2 years. At almost the same period, Andreas continued his communications consulting practices by co-founding Jendela Nusantara Media (Jentara), a digital communications agency which focused on digital communications strategy, digital content creation, and digital platform establishment. Through Jentara, Andreas dealt with various clients from NGOs, Government Institutions, to corporate entities.

A journalist by trade, Rahmad’s deep passion in journalism sparked when he was still in high school, persevered at the university, and matured as it became his choice of career despite having obtained prestigious degree in aeronautics engineering from the University of Gadjah Mada.
