An oil exploration company has acquired 51% interests in South Sumatra field. The company wished to raise its reputation as a socially responsible company. Aside from the objective of operating in a sustainable manner, having a good reputation will provide great advantage in attracting investors and obtaining financing.

As an initial step toward stakeholder engagement and reputation building, KP conducted a Rapid Social and Environmental Assessment (RSEA). The assessment provided a general overview of the actual situation on the ground, enabling the company to undertake management actions in line with IFC Performance Standards.
